Joyce Cahoon is a PhD student in the department of statistics at NC State. Her research interests are broad and include the foundations of statistical inference, Bayes and empirical Bayes, and their applications in high-dimensional problems. Prior to her academic work, she was an analyst for a number of startups and has done research in a broad range of industries including edtech, finance, and healthcare. Most recently, she was an intern with the tidymodels group at RStudio.
